The 2025 GOFCP will take place in the building of Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Sokolovská 83, Prague (google maps link). The conference venue is located in a broader city center and easily accesible by public transport (see more information below).
The talks will be held in lecture room K1. The room is fully equipped, and internet access is available throughout the building via Eduroam.
The participants will be accommodated (from August 28 to 31) either in hotel Fitzgerald or in the Charles University Hotel.
Hotel Fitzgerald is located near the conference venue (approximately 8 minutes of walking, see also the map), close to the metro and tram station Florenc (6 minutes of walking, see the map).
The University Hotel is located in the historic Opitz House, right in the heart of Prague’s city center, just 100 meters from Old Town Square. The connection to the conference venue is possible by metro line B (from station Náměstí Republiky to station Křižíkova).
All participants are responsible for covering their own travel expenses.
All participants are invited to a welcome drink on Thursday evening and a welcome reception on Friday evening. Small refreshments will be provided during the conference coffee breaks. On Saturday afternoon, there will be a sightseeing walk in Prague's city center. See more information.
Prague has an efficient public transportation system, including trams, buses, and a metro system.
The city is also well-connected by rail and air, with Václav Havel Airport serving international and domestic flights.
Hotel Fitzgerald is located close to the metro and tram station Florenc (6 minutes of walking, see the map).
Arriving by plane
Connections to the city center are available via public transport buses, AE (Airport Express) buses, and taxis. If you choose to use public transport or the AE bus, you can plan your journey and access more information using the Prague Public Transport website.
Arriving by train
The city’s primary train station is Prague Main Railway Station, located in the city center. You can reach Florenc Station (near the Fitzgerald Hotel) by taking one stop on Metro Line C.
To help cover the costs of the social program, we kindly ask each participant to contribute a small fee of 100 EUR (or 2600 CZK).
